Mary-Louise Parker
Mary-Louise Parker (born August 2, 1964) is an American actress. Following her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she won an Tony Award nomination), Parker came to prominence for film roles in Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996), and The Maker (1997). Parker won the 2001 Tony Award as Best Actress in an independent film for her portrayal in David Auburn's Proof of Catherine Llewellyn. The actress starred as Amy Gardner on NBC's television series The West Wing from 2001 until the year 2006. As a result of this role, she was nominated in 2002 for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress In a Drama Series.
