Mary-Louise Parker

Mary-Louise Parker (born August 2, 1964) is an American actress. Following her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she won an Tony Award nomination), Parker came to prominence for film roles in Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996), and The Maker (1997). Parker won the 2001 Tony Award as Best Actress in an independent film for her portrayal in David Auburn's Proof of Catherine Llewellyn. The actress starred as Amy Gardner on NBC's television series The West Wing from 2001 until the year 2006. As a result of this role, she was nominated in 2002 for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress In a Drama Series. As part of her performance as Harper Pitt in the HBO miniseries Angels in America, she won an Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. She was also awarded a Primetime Emmy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award. In 2006, Parker was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama. In 2007, Parker was nominated for three times for The Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She also received the Golden Globe Award in 2006 for Best Actress in Red (2010) and Red. (2013), and Red 2 (2013). Parker returned to Broadway in 2019, and she appeared in The Sound Inside. This show won her her third Tony Award for Best Actress. Parker has been contributing articles to Esquire magazine since 2007 and publishing Dear Mr. You in 2015. She appeared in the ABC miniseries"When We Rise, as Roma Guy. In 2018, she served as a political advisor on Billions which is a Showtime series.
